Spring Fling

Greetings! In the midst of National Guitar Month, National Autism Awareness Month, and various other noteworthy observances, April shines as National Poetry Month. Embracing my identity as a poet, I embarked on a mission to craft a multitude of poems that pay homage to this special month, setting aside my routine writing. The outcome was the assembly of a chapbook, featuring a total of 32 poems; 32 dedicated to this specific project and an additional twenty-one that emerged as a product of this profoundly inspiring month.

I would be delighted if you would accompany me on this poetic journey over the coming weeks, where I'll be sharing the poems I composed during National Poetry Month. I warmly invite you to read and, if you're inclined, share your thoughts and feelings in the comments section. Your feedback will contribute significantly to my growth as a poet.

For those familiar with my work, you'll know that I place a premium on the emotional impact of my writing rather than mere approval or disapproval. Opinions may vary, and that's perfectly fine. What truly matters to me is how my words resonated with you, how they stirred your thoughts and feelings.

What April Showers?

The skies are clear, the air is dry,

The ground is parched, I wonder why,

Where are the April showers, the rain we need,

To nourish the earth and sow the seeds?

The birds are singing, the flowers wait,

For drops of water to seal their fate,

But day by day, the sun beats down,

And turns the green to shades of brown.

The fields are barren, the streams run low,

The trees are thirsty, their branches slow,

The world is waiting for the rain to come,

To bring new life and make us one.

We need the April showers to fall,

To wash away the dust and all,

To bring a smile to every face,

And make the world a better place.
